Born in 1894 in Camberwell, the elder son of Albert and Annie Wormleighton. He attended Albert Cator Street School in Southwark and in 1911 he was employed as a ticket writer and living with his parents, three sisters and younger brother at 9 Pitt Street, Peckham, London SE. He was attached to the 17th Londons and is on the memorial under his parent regiment the 1/22nd (County of London) Battalion (The Queen’s).

He became a ticket writer and enlisted in Bermondsey

Private Wormleighton died at the Battle of Loos. He left his father Albert £2.4.3 + £4.10 war gratuity and a part repayment of his mother’s funeral expenses.
