If you think you might enjoy:
+ some non-strenuous physical exercise
+ a modest amount of mental exercise
+ being part of a team
+ a good social life
then bellringing may be just what you are looking for!
We have a peal of 8 bells in our tower and a team of bellringers from the parish who are always happy to welcome anyone who would like to find out more about bellringing. They practise 7.30–9pm each Wednesday and ring before our 10.30am service on the first Sunday of the month.
For more information about bellringing, please read the attached leaflet.
If you would like to learn to ring our bells, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
You don’t even have to be musical! Bell ringing develops your rhythm and physical coordination as well as keeping your mind sharp and active. As a recent learner says: “I can’t recommend learning to ring more enthusiastically, but it comes with a warning – it’s incredibly addictive!”
The team have an annual outing, in more recent years, with the Islington ringing team. In May 2019, they travelled to Winchester and rang in five churches in the area, including Romsey Abbey. See our photogallery for pictures of the trip.
